About Us

In 1991 Australian National Line and Associated Steamships formed a joint venture, which saw the beginnings of ASP Ship Management.

The acquisition in 1997 by the current major shareholder was the catalyst to take what was purely an Australian Ship Management business and developed ASP into what it is today, a Global Third Party Ship Manager and Maritime Service Solutions provider, with fully established and owned operating offices and crew management offices in Europe, Indian Sub-Continent, Asia and Australasia.

The ASP Group provides a complete range of integrated Maritime Service Solutions to a long standing and reputable client base. These services include the traditional 3rd Party Technical Ship Management Services and Crew Management Services, employing over 200 highly skilled shore based staff and some 2,500 seafarers with skill sets equipped to service our diverse fleet portfolio from Tanker, Bulk Carrier, Container, Offshore and other ship types.

Through our reputation for technical excellence the ASP Group now engages in long-term Time Charter activity both, in Australia and New Zealand involving critical supply chain distribution of refined products around those coast lines and bunker supplies in major ports.

In addition the ASP Group also offers Ship Agency Services in Singapore, Marine Travel Services based in a number of our operating offices covering both executive travel as well as the movement of seafarers around the Globe.

Our regional approach to service delivery ensures we are never far from our clients and enables us to provide expert advice and expertise on local issues and legislation particularly relevant in the likes of the Australian and New Zealand environments.

EA combination of traditional marine skills combined with modern IT makes the ASP Group leading in the field of third party ship management, cooperating with established Ship Owners, Charterers, Trading Houses, Operators, Ship Brokers, Financial Institutions, Insurance Brokers and other stakeholders within the global maritime cluster.

Overview

ASP Crew Management Services is structured to provide solutions through a network of recruiting offices, under one central administration, ship-owners and management companies are able to select their personnel from amongst the major crew recruitment sources. These sources at present are principally the Philippines, India, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Georgia and Australia.

We are involved with leading maritime training institutions in the countries in which we have our recruitment offices. Our training policy is especially focused on attracting bright young potential officers to train as deck and engineering cadets. We want to ensure that our trainee officers not only receive training, but also that they are provided with a career path, which means they can see their way through to the most senior ranks in 10 to 12 years. These people will also be a future source of senior shore staff for the client’s that we serve.

No enterprise can operate without quality staff. ASP Crew Management Services is operated by highly experienced and motivated personnel with a deep sense of integrity. Thereby ensuring that we achieve the high benchmarks we have set ourselves.
